Color me shocked when I saw this ad during the Super Bowl last night (via Ace of Spades). As if it weren’t bad enough that Peyton had to choke it like a little bitch during the game, my predictions are being taken for a ride from right under my nose!

Get the Idea Police on this case, biyatches!!!! Mama needs a new pair of government-required recycling bins to pay for with her new royalties. Although, they didn’t use my dream of Lt. Dangle in skimpy green shorts so I’m willing to at least cut a deal – I’ll settle for the amount cap and trade will cost so I can give that money back to the taxpayers who will be robbed of their income to support it. Because you know if cap and trade becomes a reality, it’s a slippery slope to life imitating art in this ad.

Oooooooooh, Ed Begley, Jr., if only you would have had a crystal ball the other week. Perhaps you would have rethought statements like this when somebody points out that maybe global warming “science” should be met with strong skepticism:

“Peer-reviewed studies. Those are the key words here. If these scientists have done something wrong, it will be found out and their peers will determine it….and if it does come out in peer-reviewed studies that there are some cooking of the books that will come out.”

Oh, the cooking of the books came out alright, but not because of the peer-review methodology. Because of some miracle hackers who weren’t going to take a ‘Ph.D.’ label as the ultimate authority on climate “science.” In fact, it seems the peer review measure is what caused the cover-up of falsified and manipulated data. Goooooooooo peer reviews!

Don’t you just love it when liberals shoot themselves in the foot. (via Ace of Spades)

Click here to view the embedded video.

This is what happens when you base a movement in shady science and defame reasonable skeptics as being against what you deem the “truth.” These leaders on the global warming front remind me of this passage in Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg (emphasis mine):

But {Georges] Sorel’s greatest contribution to the left – and Mussolini in particular – lay elsewhere: in his conception of “myths,” which he defined as “artificial combination invented to give the appearance of reality to hopes that inspire men in their present activity.”

As Mussolini said in an interview in 1932, “It is faith that moves mountains, not reason. Reason is a tool but it can never be the motive force of the crowd.” This kind of thinking has been commonplace on the left ever since. Think of Al Sharpton when allegedly confronted by the fact that the Tawana Brawley “assault” was a fake. “It doesn’t matter” he’s reported to have said. “We’re building a movement.”

I take those historical accounts, and look at the reaction of those politicians and academics who continue to blindly defend the “science” of global warming. Makes me wonder if history will always repeat itself and when will people WAKE up to these hysteria movements that are created only to make a few people rich on the fears of the masses. Does that mean we forget recycling and being environmentally conscience? No. But it is also means there’s no need for demagogue-style lecturing and governmental enforcement of energy policies (that drive up prices for consumers) on the sole basis of clearly falsified “science.”

Ann McElhinney makes some powerful arguments on how this entire Global Warming movement has been a hoax using mass media hysteria to make a few people rich beyond their wildest dreams while people in the poorest of third-world areas are lectured and depraved of basic life-sustaining necessities. And she makes an appropriate crack at the limo liberals like Michelle “First Victim” Obama, by stating she needs to get over herself if she honestly thinks SHE is a victim in this world.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The filmmakers of this documentary are awesome. I’ve been laughing a straight five minutes at this joke:

“How do you know you’re rich? Your children come home to tell you they’ve become environmentalists.”

So true, liberals. Get off the disconnected train and get back into the real-world. Humans are a part of this environment and CO2, the very thing we breath out of our mouths, is no more destroying the Earfffffffff then rain drops. After the Cap n’ Tax bill, what will be next ‘population control’ bills? I sense a massive grassroots uprising if the Beltway doesn’t get its act together soon and moves away from appeasing 1% of fringe, eco-crazed lunatics on the left.

Also, here’s another clip where the other filmmaker, Phelim McAleer, gets bounced from the press line (even though he has proper credentials and followed the rules) for asking celebrities if they believe that flying attributes so much to global warming, then how did they get to the premiere. Hilarity insues.

Gillian Anderson, no joke, responds with an honest look on her face (because she ain’t that great of an actress):

“Well, it [aviation] absolutely is, but sometimes some people have to fly in order to make a stand.”

Seriously???? So, you’re desire to get on a private, chartered Gulf-Stream jet to attend a Hollywood premiere is justified. But ordinary Americans who fly coach for business/vacation, or people who drive SUVs and Minivans, or people who need to cut down forests for firewood for HEAT to stay alive are some how not justified in their energy choices and need to be lectured by the likes of somebody who’s career is nothing more of memorizing lines for a living? A delusional nitwit says what?

Click here to view the embedded video.

In case you can’t see the video, here’s the screencap from Sarah’s site with her insightful (aka COMMON SENSE) analysis:

The red lines: “UN Predictions for Temperature Levels”

The yellow line: “UN Predictions: What Will Happen to Temperatures If Their Restrictions Are Put In Place”

The green line: “Global Temperatures from Surface Station Measurements”

The blue line: “Global Temperatures from Satellite Measurements”

So the red and yellow lines are what the UN says will happen, and the green and blue lines are what is really happening. Note the enormous plummet away from prediction.

I mean, I know Sarah is a Smarty McSmartpants and all, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that when I’m not enjoying my typical summer in Chicago by still having to wear a coat in June that maybe, JUST MAYBE, there is NO GLOBAL WARMING going on, particularly one that is man-caused. That said I’m all for reasonable pro-environment, anti-dependency-on-foreign-energy-supply-legislation. But the current craptastic scribble, scrabble know as the Cap ‘n Trade legislation sponsored by Golum’s evil twin Henry Waxman. Myyyyyyyyy precious taxes!

I know. I know – I’m totally inappropriate sometimes. Pah-lease, like you aren’t thinking the same thing everytime that weasel gets on the screen doing the Make-Pelotox-Happy-Dance.

Anytypicalliberaltangent, here’s the deal with my anti-position on Democrat environment or “green” policies – they are developed not as a way to save the earffffffffffff as Pelotox and Obama would have you believe. They are created on the basis of creating more revenue for government. They are created on false or highly-questionable “research” spouted off by the UN – the same UN and scientists who get their money to fund said research from the US government (ie, taxpayers). Conflict of interest, say wha-aaaaaaaaaaaat!

Typically these green bills are passed on the premise in the media as it’s going to lower man’s carbon footprint (hahahahahahahahah), but what they seem to leave out is that little thing called facts. Like the one based in reality from say, oh! The Deparment of Energy which states that human activity only accounts for less than 1% of all greenhouse gas. If you couple this with the report from the EPA (the same report the UN left out of it’s 2007 study and has tried to suppress ever since) that says the temperatures of the earth have been dramatically cooling not warming – gee, what do you get. I’ll tell you – you get a bunch of conflicting “science” that on either side of the aisle should NOT be used as a main proponent to create slimy legislation that will cripple the current energy resources, the economy, and those folks on the lower economic scale who cannot afford to be whipped forcefully into paying for higher energy services that most likely will not have any better affect on the earth than current ones.

Breath, Beth, breath….

You need to start wondering why is it that Democrat leaders who are supposedly so “green” friendly have voiced their disdain for nuclear energy. Nuclear energy – you know that ultra-cheap (and recyclable) energy source that has ZERO CO2 emissions. The same energy source that Democrats couldn’t tax under a normal cap and trade bill because they wouldn’t have any emissions to tax, thus giving them no revenue to pay “global warming” scientists to conduct research that says we need more CO2 emission lowering policies. Ain’t government Grrrrrrrrrrr-eat!

Here’s a breakdown of the cost of energy sources (and here’s a link to benefit comparisons) (via The Economics of Nuclear Power)

Notice, that nuclear is the cheapest and the one we use the least of in the US. If we even just doubled the # of nuclear plants in the US to say 40 (currently, there’s around 20 plants I think) the costs per nuclear-produced kilowatt would drop even further. Who would benefit? Oh, only you, me, my cousin’s baby daddy, etc. Oh, but not the government – because they wouldn’t be able to perpetuate myths that they could then use to increase taxes to give their parasitic machine even more revenue streams they can’t then budget properly.

Cleanest, cost-efficient energy that won’t produce revenue for government but will be cheap for Americans and produce local jobs

VS.

Bait-n-switch legislation that gives the government more revenue but punishes US energy companies with taxes those businesses will then pass down to Americans and will create less local jobs, and encourage companies to outsource their energy refinement in other countries.

Gee, is the “dilemma” transparent enough?

And before any liberals start tooting their opposition horn about initial, large capital investments that come with nuclear power, let’s remind them they are the same group that lectures everyone about getting a hybrid. The same type of hybrid car that costs around 20% on average more than non-hybrid models but is advocated as savings in the long run. Also, as to other renewable energy efficiency, take a walk down the lane of economic realities:

Solar energy costs currently around $45,000 to install solar panels on a house. You’ll then receive a tax credit (ie, a reimbursement after you’ve basically given Uncle Sam a loan with your hard earned income) of around $20k. Those tax credits don’t go much more beyond that amount, so you’re still paying around $20k for energy that is around only 50% reliable – remember, if it’s a cloudy day then there’s no energy. Plus you still have to be connect to the grid and electricity has to run constant, so you will be paying for some man-made electricity.

Wind energy costs even more – at around 15 cents/kilowatt. Remember, in the US nuclear costs around 3 cents a kilowatt (even with much less nuclear plants than wind farms). And that is for on-shore wind farm energy, and remember that those elitist “green” Dems don’t like to host wind farms in THEIR backyard – oh no, that’s what you’re backyard is for. Again, if you needed further proof on how wind energy is an overblown fallacy, here are some facts (via Island Turtle). You can also ask your handy civil or electrical engineer and they’ll probably tell you the same thing – I know because my husband happens to build lots of structures that demand massive amounts of electricity and the best economical way to keep those structures running.

Wind power isn’t a good match for baseload management, but regulatory requirements mandate it be given priority. Wind has a problem. It is an intermittent source of electricity. It isn’t necessarily there when you need it. Because of its intermittency, wind power must be backed up by conventional thermal power. This means fossil fueled plants can’t be dismantled as wind power capacity is put in place.

There are just times when there is no wind over vast stretches of our country. Just after Al Gore made his energy speech last July, I checked the wind maps of the eastern US. There was no wind over 10 mph (the threshold for wind generation) anywhere on the east coast, and most areas were flat calm. Other than pumped water storage, there is no economical way to store this electricity. There are only 31 pumped storage facilities in the US and all their capacity is spoken for. The prospect for expanding that number is unlikely.

So take this all in the next time you hear some corduroy-jacket wearing, English professor academia type whining about how we need to do more for the earth. He can do more for the earth by sticking his head where the sun don’t shine than lecturing me about driving less and the need for our government to waste $800 billion more dollars on a flusy-in-a-skirt bill like Cap and Trade.

This past weekend on our road trip back to Peoria, IL, my husband and I were discussing Barack Obama’s plans to make the US:

“The GREATEST Exporter of clean energy in the WOOOOOOOORLD!”

Okay, he didn’t really say it “exactly” like that, but you get the idea. President Unicorn Princess talked about this during Earth Day (via The Boston Globe)

Marking Earth Day, President Obama declared today that moving toward renewable energy is essential to America’s prosperity and announced that his administration will for the first time lease federal waters for projects to generate electricity from wind as well as from ocean currents and other renewable sources.

“We can remain the world’s leading importer of oil, or we can become the world’s leading exporter of clean energy.”

Now I’m not saying let’s continue relying on foreign oil because that ship is sailing in the future. But I’m for domestic drilling and then bridging the revenues which would come from that into R&D for technologies of tomorrow – primarily natural gas, renewable nuclear and clean coal. But instead of spending time on these innovative technologies, it’s like we have people in charge now of our nation’s energy plan who don’t know one freakin’ thing about how to build energy plants or how energy is transported from processing > the grid > county > household > the electrical appliance/switch you turn on. And the media doesn’t even call out Obama on his energy plans which are built on fallacies and the placating of facts.

Can somebody tell the guy who was “ready from day one” that a Nobel Laureate in Physics doesn’t automatically equate a brilliant strategist for negotiating domestic/foreign energy policies. Just because the guy is the smartest person in the room who would actually produce the new energy technology, doesn’t mean he’s the best person to develop business tactics to move countries toward adapting new energy policies. Half the time it sounds like this guy doesn’t even know what he’s talking about. Only in America!

Riddle me this Captain Koolaid, how in the world are you going to develop a technology that will transport electricity built on wind and solar across the ocean to other countries.

“Well, yuck, yuck, yuck, Beth, glad. you. asked. See kidos (aka American citizens who don’t know any better) we’re going to have a magical, invisible power grid that will absorb the natural energies of the earffff’s elements and then we’ll store it in a big tree in NeverNeverLand. This will allow us to collect clean energy reserves which we can then sell and cure the world of their reliable fossil fuel energy dependency. Then we’ll all hold hands, drink Coca Cola, and teach each other to sing Kumbayah.”

Oh, it must be just my pessimistic realistic knowledge that you cannot harness the electrical current on that massive of a scale not only with energy made from volatile and unreliable elements like the sun/wind, but even with our current fossil fuels. Or it could be the fact that I know you cannot have solar and wind electricity without a fossil fuel backup that must run constantly even when no actual energy is in use. Power is not something you can just turn on at the local plant when it’s not a sunny enough day outside for your beloved solar panels to work. You have to keep it constantly running and it has to be produced at an extremely higher voltage in a massive quantity in order for it to reach your house off of the grid. As electricity travels from the plant to your house it’s constantly being stripped down the further it travels. Now multiply this by the millions of people on the same grid.

Kind of puts this supposed “ease” of adapting green technologies in perspective, heh????

Wake up, folks! There are financial, logical reasons why solar energy and wind power are not popping up all over the place. One is that they are extremely expensive. For instance, with all the tax breaks today, it would still cost you around $25k to make your house entirely solar powered (via Go Green Live Rich) And even then you’d still have to have a backup feeding off the fossil-fuel backed power grid. Why? Because solar is unreliable – bottom line.

So is wind. But with wind as well, it’s not only super expensive to build but requires massive amounts of land to produce. A lot of times the land required doesn’t meet the satisfaction of limo liberals like everyone’s favorite hypocrite Teddy “Gets Away With Murder to Salvage a Political Career” Kennedy. Drumrooooooooooll please…(via The Boston Globe)

But like a lot of well-to-do Cape and Islands landowners and sailing enthusiasts, Kennedy doesn’t want to share his Atlantic playground with an energy facility, no matter how clean, green, and nearly unseen. Last month he secretly arranged for a poison-pill amendment, never debated in either house of Congress, to be slipped into an unrelated Coast Guard bill. It would give the governor of Massachusetts, who just happens to be a wind farm opponent, unilateral authority to veto the Cape Wind project.

Gee, thanks Uncle Ted! Now everytime I hear one of you Dems up there spouting overblown lectures about how all us common folk in Middle America need to get on board with the clean energy policies we can’t afford, I’ll be sure to remember how you reacted when the world’s life saving energy policy was refused near your million-dollar Mcmansion.

And then there’s the other concept that since we won’t be able to physically export the “clean” energy, our administration really means for us to be in the business of exporting the technology. Again – WTF? Now we’re in the business of telling countries how to run their own policies. Yeah, cause even though Obama’s magical persuasive skills fell FLAT at the G-20 summit, they’ll somehow work now with countries like India and China.

Cue the hypocrisy question again to liberals – We can’t tell dictators “hey, stop development on enriching uranium programs or we’ll hold off diplomatic talks” OR “stop oppressing your people or we’re going to do something about it” OR “don’t harbor terrorists that attack the US’ …..BUT we can tell them how to run their own energy policies. Pffffffffff. O-ooookay.

This cracks me up. President Bush is lambasted by liberals when he refused to sign onto the Kyoto Treaty simply because it left China and India unaccountable. This is because Bush is a realist in that he understood you have to find a way to get these massive polluting countries on board on their own, and also not having these two major economic players on board would have a domino impact on the other economies participating in the treaty. But President Obama just talks as if countries will fall in line simply because we produce these new “green” technologies and liberals praise him for it. Good grief. What’s the next step? Develop a Green Police to go in on behalf of the UN and make other countries do what we want them to do. Yeah, cause that worked so well on the national security front with North Korea and Iraq.

Watch, no joke – it’s going to happen. The UN or some failed partnership between US and France will develop the Reno 911 of Eco-Police. Lt. Dangle at your service.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys, watch gonna do when they come fooooooooooooooo’ you!

Again, as much as I would like to see our world become pro-environment I’m also a realist when it comes to how energy is produced, stored and distributed on a massive scale. I’m a big nuclear power proponent and am for modeling our renewable nuclear energy after France (except for the socialized part). Because of this knowledge it makes me LMFAO when I hear politicians talk about us creating “clean” energy as if it is something that exists but just our greed with fossil fuels is getting in the way. Riiiight (rolling eyes).

It would be more beneficial to the public to take a class on how power plants are built than to give everyone a “Celebrate Earth Day” bag. Sad reality is that most people would rather take the bag to mindlessly consume more stuff than take 5 minutes to liberate their mind on the realities of energy policies.
