In the post below about the Gods, Guns, and Guts promotion I thought about it more when the CNN reporter smirked (literally in a snooty voice) about the dealership owners putting the word “GOD” in his promotion. I know the reporter is trying to get at a “how DARE you put religion out in the public eye!”

I’m so tired of this crusade against anyone who not only wants to practice religion but also wants to voice their practice/admiration of their religion.

I don’t think this dealer is marketing hybrids to smug a-holes in San Francisco. He’s marketing honk-a-burn’-love monster trucks to country boys in the sticks (aka God’s Country by the locals). Everytime my husband and I go visit his folks that remark is made more than once during the trip down – we’re almost to God’s Country (aka small town, middle of nowhere Indiana).

If the dealership owner wants to put God in his promotion to drum up sales, so be it. If you don’t like religion here’s a thought – ignore the promotion, pass over it. I don’t think you were his target audience in the first place then.

BTW, this totally reminds me of that episode on South Park. It’s literally one of my favorites. Where the liberals of San Fran are so smug in their egos because they all drive hybrids, that they have no shame in smelling their own farts. Classic, yet so on target.

Here’s the commentary on the inspiration for that episode. I just love Matt Stone and Trey Parker – isn’t it funny how it just comes down to common sense.

Listening to their story, you can just imagine these liberals thinking they’re doing something sooooo great by buying a hybrid car – as if they’ve helped save the Earfffffffffffff (and I just said that with my eyes closed – closed due to a massive eye roll, but still closed)

In case you’ve been living under a rock the past three decades or are Ashley “Should Spend More Time In Acting Class Than on the Political Soapbox” Judd, here’s the dividing line on every Democrat’s favorite election-only topic of the pro-choice vs. pro-life debate – Abortion.

I say “election-only” because that’s really the only time you hear about this “IMPORTANT” issue is on the freakin’ campaign trail, OR if a supreme court judge is up for nomination (which only seems to be once every 4-8 years).

For the most part everyone on both sides can agree to the ABCs of all other reproductive right methods – abstinence (100% effective), birth control pills (99% effective) and condoms (98-97% effective – depending on what the brand states). But as my friend Jim once stated, pro-choice has now evolved into Pro-ONE-choice. For the most part you don’t hear people debating about the reproductive rights to condoms or bc pills – unless distributed on a govt. school campus which is a different issue entirely (sorry, it is for those that are having a difficult time with that thing called the trufffffffffffff).

Anytangent, to me the issue of abortion can be a very gray issue. I don’t think it should completely illegal. Doing so would make it illegal for doctors to abort the fetus if the mother’s life was in danger. So in this scenario there could be a legal case made for abortion. And I could see where a case could be made for circumstances involving rape/incest.

But oh, but hold up all you pro-choicers – don’t start the celebration wagon yet. That said, all other cases of abortion should not be legal. And before any liberal pipes up about mother’s danger, rape or incest situation – FYI those circumstance account for less than 1% of all abortions – such a small # it practically doesn’t count. Do we make drunk driving legal even though it only accounts for less than 1% of the total possible results everytime a person gets in the car? No. Do we allow pregnant women to smoke cigarettes or crack cocaine? No. Why Not? Doesn’t the govt. not have the right to put a gun to woman’s head demanding what she do with her body? Gee, liberals, kind of stumped???

That’s because the right to liberty does not trump the right to life. And that my friends is at the center of this debate.

Unfortunately, this weekend the Catholic Church’s top worldwide notable university, Notre Dame, decided to go against the moral underlying of the Pope (the Pope! for @#$!@#$@ sake) and invite the HAPIC (head abortion proponent in charge) to come speak at the university’s commencement. OH! and give him an honorary degree. Brillzzzz! (rolling eyes). Just what did President Teleprompter say during the controversial appearance. You guessed it – just your standard “we should continue to be open minded in this heated social debate while the side I represent never givens in from their extremist POV.” Classic liberalism – I’m going to request that you be open-minded while I’m as close minded as possible to your positions (via Doctor Zero at HotAir’s GreenRoom)

The majority of people who identify themselves as “pro-choice” do not believe the aborted fetus is a living human being with any legal rights. Some see abortion as essentially a surgical procedure to remove a clump of cells. This view is hard-coded into federal law through the Roe vs. Wade decision, which states that no legal restriction can be placed on aborting a fetus until it can potentially survive outside the mother’s womb. The majority of people who identify themselves as “pro-life” believe the unborn child is human long before it can pass this “survivability” test, so abortion involves the killing of a living human being. This is not a difference of opinion that can be resolved by “holding hands” and “building bridges.” I doubt it is a question medical science will ever resolve conclusively for us, since they’ll never develop a soul detector… and if they did, it would immediately be suppressed by politicians, to prevent it from being used on them.

What people seem to miss is that most pro-lifers (even the religious ones) have compromised on most issues considering the supposed “true” pro-choice stance. They may not engage in the pro-choice activities themselves, but they accept the public’s use or availability to them.

They’re accepted the choice of abstinence.

They’re accepted the personal choice of engaging in sexual promiscuity without protection.

They’re accepted the personal choice of using condoms and birth control.

Most have accepted the Plan B birth control option – since technically Plan B is not terminating an already reproduced life; it’s preventing prior to reproduction technically.

Like myself, they’ve even for the most part compromised on abortion in cases where the mother’s life is in danger, or is a situation of rape/incest.

Pro-lifers have acknowledged and compromised on the debate of pro-choice, but where has the compromise from the Pro-Choice side come in? Instead it’s the argument from the extremist point of view. Since pro-lifers aren’t on the “5 o’clock FREE Abortion Giveaway” platform, then they’re against women’s rights. LMFAO, liberals. Yeah, it’s conservatives having compromised on the access to multiple methods of birth control really not being open minded in this debate (snickers). Doctor Zero makes another excellent point in his post:

The last thing anyone in the Democrat Party wants to do is have a genuine debate, with serious consequences, against the pro-life movement. The best liberals can bring themselves to do is offer tepid acknowledgment that another side to the debate exists, which you can barely hear over the sound of the liberal congratulating himself for the openness of his mind.

Exactly. Oh GREAT ONE OBAMA, please show me at least 1-2 examples of when the pro-choice side of the debate has been open-minded to the pro-life’s stance on the reproductive rights issue?

I double dog dare you! No, I triple dog dare you! Until you or one of your Obamabots can show a clear example of this, take a good tablespoon of STFU medicine about pro-lifers needing to be more “open minded.”

The last few days I’ve been debating over on Facebook. On the latest thread, my liberal “friends” would over and over again depict conservatives as caricaturizations when they are against massive spending which result s in tax hikes. They typically come back and say that then means we’re not for any taxation, which was very inaccurate. I mean that’s like somebody saying “Hey, I don’t want to give my child a Mercedes S-Class convertible for the 16th birthday” and then the retort is “Whaaaaaaaaat! You don’t care about providing for your children.”

AnyMySweetSixteenbrat, I think many of us nonliberals believe in some taxation. But we don’t believe that the majority of Americans are FOR paying more taxes – I’m talking about on their own not other people paying more taxes for more government services – despite what Doofus-of-the-Week Colin Powell says.

In terms of government assistance programs (which are the primary sources of federal money), for me, I believe there should be some type of temporary safety net for people. I don’t think it should be every man for himself – a lot of conservatives feel this way but I’m tired of liberals portraying us as such. We’re in this country together. That said people should be pulling their own weight, not bitching on the sidelines while the rest of us carry the burden producing the majority of the work. But we have already have that safety net, and instead govt. is finding every angle possible to expand it into a permanent, dependent blankie for some folks.

I don’t think growing up poor is an excuse for continued govt. assistance. At some point people are responsible for the choices they make in life and it’s not the govt.’s responsibility to be an enabler rewarding people for their choice to go down the irresponsible path. You should not get paid to live in the US on the backs of hard working Americans. If you don’t pay taxes I don’t think you should then get a tax cut or receive numerous tax credits to the point you’re coming out in the green from the govt. I don’t believe in free rides on coattails and I certainly don’t think people should be given money that’s stolen from a group of citizens simply because they are in a certain income group. I understand it happens but that isn’t a license to do it more and more.

I think it’s a contradiction to say under our laws all men are equal, but then under our tax code we’re segregating you into different groups with different requirements. This is the greatest country where everyone has a free opportunity to pull themselves out of poverty without the help of the government. I grew up lower middle class, my family at one point was on welfare but I’m a success today working very hard from the money I earn. People grow up poor everyday and make choices to be responsible to work hard. Is it easy? I’m not saying that. It sucks. I’ve been in financial ruin before – worried about filing for bankruptcy a few years after college- but I somehow got it together. I didn’t need help from the govt. by them giving me more tax credits and hiking up taxes on “the rich” (which is really the working class who have had longer careers or chosen different career paths to earn what they earn today). I just learned to cut back and saved, saved, saved.

People everyday in positions like mine took advantage of the free economic opportunities we ALL have to pull themselves out of poverty. I’m interested in making America stronger by providing more opportunities for them to earn more ON THEIR OWN. Bring the weaker in the country up to the level of the strong by giving them the freedom to do so. I don’t think punishing the strong by depleting them of their earnings is the right path to bring the weaker up. Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he’ll eat for a lifetime. I want people to be stronger united in economic opportunities and rewarded for it, not punished through the tax code to unite everyone in misery.

I look at someone’s wealth and am not jealous or think it’s unfair. I think how can I get to that point, what can I do. And at some point, I don’t really need that much money. Honestly I’m happy with just a house, car, my husband and food on the table. But I’m tired of the materialistic nature that plays into our political process – using our govt. system as a piggy bank to buy votes for those who can get the biggest score out of govt. When a lady is screaming about Obama and how she doesn’t have to worry about paying for her bills like mortgage and gas, that’s a huge red flag with our political process.

That’s not what our govt. was set up for, and if it continues to do that with massive spending programs I’ll continue to speak out against it. If you’re against it to, don’t be afraid to speak out either. If somebody tells you you’re “not supporting the President” then just tell them this is a free country and you’ve got the right to. You can’t cut people off or expect people to just “give the guy a chance” just because the candidate you support happens to be in office. We sat back and listened to angst from the left for 8 years, literally before Bush even officially took office.

So I’m tired of just sitting by being persecuted for speaking my mind. I’m tired of being expected to not have a reaction when told I’m not a team player because I’m not just blindingly going with whatever massive spending policy govt. is passing,. It doesn’t mean the ride is easy, but at least at the end of the day I can keep my held high knowing I didn’t let the far left make me ashamed of who I am and the principles I hold dear to my heart.
