A classic case of racism going too far from a liberal – Shockaaaaah!

In case you live under a rock, in Corporate America we typically have to deal with these monthly celebrations of “This Month’s Diversity Awareness Event to Put on the Face that We’re All the Same Yet Different Because if We Don’t Do This Some Lazy Idiot Could Sue our HR Dept on Baseless Grounds of Discrimination/Diversity Insensitivity and We’d All Be Up Shit Creek Without a Job”

During February it’s Black History Month, a celebration of American historical figures/events of those who are from the black (oh, how racist of me), er, African-American ethnicity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about honoring ancestry and acknowledging our differences in culture. I’m just irked when we see an entire month devoted to “you better celebrate our unique cultural attributes” but the other 11 months of the year if you point them out then you’re a direct target for the racist label.

Case in point – the latest “scandal” in racism over at NBC (via HotAir). Apparently at NBC, the company chef (WHO IS BLACK, btw) decided to fix the following menu in honor of this diversity month celebration.

Well I guess soul food is now racist in the eyes of some notable black figures like Questlove – drummer for the band The Roots. His current gig is as a drummer on The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon (at NBC) and I guess he felt the need to call out HR for their “racially insensitive” menu planning.

Keep in mind he throws this out despite the fact that HR probably had NOTHING to do with the menu planning (or that he had any evidence of it) AND that soul food like collard greens and fried chicken is typically a staple of cuisine in BOTH southern and northern black family households. There was even a f@#$ing movie (and following TV series) about it, called…..wait.for.it – SOUL FOOD and the entire family at the movie’s story was African-American. Here’s the tagline for the movie:

A story of the people who make us strong and the recipe that makes us a family.

Gee, sure sounds racist to me. Also, I think this is real rich considering QuestLove performed several times on Chappelle’s Show, one skit which focused on mocking racial stereotypes. Here’s the episode description:

Dave doesn’t believe the stereotype that white people can’t dance – so he brings in musical guests John Mayer, QuestLove and Ahmir-Khalib Thompson to play with this stereotype. One of the funnier sketches of the second season.

Oh, so let me get this straight. It’s okay for someone to mock racial stereotypes – especially those outside of his own culture/race – when it’s convenient for him, but nobody else, even someone who at worst is acknowledging THEIR OWN culture’s characteristics, is allowed to do so for the culture he is a part of. Mindless hypocrite say wha-wha-whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

And just to add one more nail in the coffin of this baseless accusation of racial insensitivity, here are the menus from the last three Black History Month luncheons we’ve had at my company. Oh, and the committee who plans these luncheons has nobody from HR on it and is 99% comprised of black employees at the company.

2009 – Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Green Beans, Yams, Sweet Potatoes, Cornbread, Mac & Cheese, Black-eyed Peas and Rice

2008 – Fried chicken, collard greens with smoked turkey, yams, corn bread muffins, corn, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding and peach cobbler (Also, a black employee played the jazz saxophone at the luncheon.)

2007 – Fried chicken, collard greens, sweet potatoes, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese. (Also, music by famous African-American artists played while employees enjoyed the festivities.)

So over on FB this past week, I’ve been debating the GatesGate. I know – shocking.

But I’m amazed at how far and how many excuses people will stretch in order to justify the actions of a guy basically acting like an asshole to the men protecting his home and causing a public disturbance, thus resulting in his disorderly conduct arrest.

It’ like Tawana Brawley all over again. How soon we forget. Someone accuses cops of a heinous crime, only later to be proven those accused did nothing wrong but accuser’s irresponsible actions somehow still justified by weak arguments based in race-card politics.

I’ve already stated my case on the subject. A Harvard-elitist acting like an asshole, can still be called out for being an asshole – I don’t care what race he is. Just like a racist cop is a racist, despite his race as well. But defamming the character of a decorated and diversity-educating officer as a racist despite evidence to the contrary – somehow justified?

You might be asking why. Get ready for an eye roll. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Well, according to some of my liberal friends it’s because there have been acts of racial profiling in the US in the past and currently. Yes, you read that right. Because injustices still occur that gives people like Gates the right to excuse their behavior even when those injustices are not related to the situation. Because a racist cop like Justin Barrett exists, then it’s a default justification that Crowley “could be” a racist himself (even though there IS NO EVIDENCE), and also Gates is justified to libelously proclaim Crowley as having racially profiled him, falsified a police report about him, and then demanded Crowley owed him an apology.

Please, that’s ridiculous and inexcusable. The same goes for Al Sharpton and Tawana Brawley. It’s okay since cops may have abused black women in other instances, that Sharpton and Brawley were justified in outright lying to the public, creating mass hysteria with no evidence, and labeling NYC officers as rapists/racists even when proved they had done nothing to this woman. Classic case of defamation of character, just like has happened with Crowley.

In fact Gates’ daughter in her latest piece on The Daily Beast after the beer summit, literally still proclaims false accusations that Crowley falsified the arrest report on her father. Yet, we don’t hear an apology or a retraction from anyone in the Gates camp that there was wrong doing on Gates’ behalf. No, no, no…that would get in the way of this idiot taking responsibility for the bad actions he made himself.

“and Sgt. Crowley isn’t the first officer to fudge a police report.”

Yeah, honey. Just ignore the fact there that another officer separately wrote a report that was nearly identical to the one Crowley wrote. I bet that officer was racial profiling too – oh OOOPS! that officer was hispanic.

The real teachable moment on post-racial relations comes from Sgt. Leon Lashley who was also at the scene (via Pundit Review). What’s really sad is that Gates will be respected (???) and praised more than Lashley when clearly Lashley is the more decent of the two. Men like Gates, Rev. Wright and Al Sharpton are excused with more money going in their greedy pockets from spewing the equivalent of revenge hate while good men like Lashley are called Uncle Toms. Those defending Gates in this way should be ashamed of themselves.

Click here to view the embedded video.

On the flipside, many say that Gates is justified because he was arrested on his private property and shouldn’t have been arrested because of his civil liberties. Well, to that – not so fast jack.

First, Gates didn’t cry wolf on the basis of his civil liberties being violated. No, he went for the good ol’ “cops are racist” defamation card, and guess what, it backfired. So it’s is proper to call Gates out on this offense. We can’t go around justifying people’s actions when they degrade cops branding them as racists based solely on the heinous actions of other bad cops. It would be the same as judging our troops who are professional and heroic everyday on those bad apple troops who committed abuse. Back to the civil liberties “defense.” While I understand this argument more, here’s where the line in the sand is drawn. A man has a right to be an asshole on his private property, should his actions not permeate within a certain limit of that property.

Remember Justice Oliver Wendall Holmes – one man’s right to swing his fist ends at the tip of another man’s nose. Gates can scream, yell profanities all he wants inside his home, but to a point. Once that disturbance breaks to the level it is saturating through to the rest of his community and neighbors, then the cops have the right to arrest him on the grounds of disorderly conduct. For example, any man has the right to watch porn in his house. Despite whether you think this is right or wrong, he has the right. What he doesn’t have the right to do though is hang a big white sheet over the front of his house and project “Debbie Does Dallas” on a 200 inch screen for the whole neighborhood to view. That’s called being a public disturbance, a violation of disorderly conduct. It would also be justified if Gates was causing such a disturbance inside his home that the noise reached the property of his neighbors. Therefore, to the civil liberties argument, yes, a man can be arrested for being an asshole on his own property.

So making the headlines these days is this story out of Cambridge where a man got arrested for disorderly conduct and then accused the police officers of racism because he’s an Ivy-edumacted man, and oh black. Notice, one of the police officers at the scene was also wait for it – B-L-A-C-K! I’m sure there was massive crimes of racism being committed as that officer stood by (eyes roooooooollin’).

Here’s the gist of the story:

A woman in her neighborhood saw two men trying to beat down a door of a local house. Probably being a woman and not knowing who the men were, she didn’t want to do nothing so called the police to warn them about a possible community crime, disturbance, what have you. Trust me, if this was going on in your neighborhood (and you didn’t recognize the people breaking in a door and you felt uneasy about approaching them yourself) you’d probably do the same thing because that’s the decent neighborly thing to do when it comes to protecting your community. Turns out the guy breaking in was the owner of the house. But when the police showed up to make sure everything was okay, instead of just cooperating with police by showing his id, the guy took the opportunity to go basically bat shit crazy like a Lohan on meth. It was more important for this guy to insult the officer who was trying to protect this guy’s community (and HIS HOME!) than for him to be cooperative.

What IF it wasn’t the owner, Gates, but an actual criminal breaking in the house and the police didn’t show up – my guess is this “professor” on race relations would then bitch and moan about the police not doing their job because they are racist toward the black man. Good grief. With people like this, you just can’t win because they will always try to find a way to make it about them being a victim of some sort. Oh, and before anyone goes jumping on the conclusions map like Obama did a la Office Space, here’s the actual police report. (via Smoking Gun) Click the link for the full thing, here is the second page with all the good stuff.

Yeah, I bet Gates was cool, calm and collected. When the officer asked to see identification to make sure he was the owner of the house and Gates responded with “Why? Because I’m a black man in America!” (and refused to cooperate with police) he did so in just a calm, misunderstood way. Right.

Please this guy is an asshole, and you can be an asshole even if you’re purple. And if you’re a purple asshole who spends more time running your mouffffffffff off at investigating police officers (who are just doing their job making sure that all is right in the community because they got an emergency call about a possible breakin), then guess what – you’re ass gets arrested for disorderly conduct. Because that’s what disorderly conduct is:

Intentionally causing public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly causing a risk, conduct that disturbs the peace or endangers the morals, health, or safety of a community.

Or for a finer example, let’s turn to one of my dad’s favorite shows, COPS. Let’s take an example of what disorderly conduct looks like when arrested:

Click here to view the embedded video.

Gates and Obama (for jumping to conclusions when he should have been politically correct and said “no comment”) should be ashamed of themselves (via HotAir). Of course Obama’s team is now doing massive backstrokes about his “officers acting stupidly” comment at the press conference before he chose to review ANY facts.

How could we have assumed that when Obama accused the cops of acting stupidly that we thought he meant they were stupid? And Eastasia has always been at war with Oceania, Winston.

While I’m not denying there are forms of racism in this country, it’s the overzealous reactions of people so quick to pull out the victim card that they end up watering down what we as a society define as racism. It would be the same if we started calling tulips, crabgrass, and lilies all the word rose. The actual roses would not exude as strong a tie in definition to the word rose if we applied it more and more to things that weren’t really an accurate representation of it. Instead we’ve got people jumping up to defend Gates without first taking a look at the facts, because they’re so eager to have a leg to stand on with a weak argument (ie, that America is just one big racist against blacks).

Oh, and interesting too that in the midst of this Gates is trying to promote a documentary on racism in America. Opportunistic ego-maniac, say whaaaaaaaaaat? Yeah, he’s totally legit in his claims. No bias here folks. If you believe that then BTW I am your savior! and you must give me a million dollars.

For Obama, it’s now that “wise-African Americans” understand the American experience more than I guess say other races because “they don’t have a recent immigrant experience to draw on.” (via Mediaite)

That’s part of the African American experience. You are, in some ways, connected to this distant land, but on the other end, you’re about as American as it gets in some ways. African Americans are more fundamentally rooted in the American experience because they don’t have a recent immigrant experience to draw on. It’s that unique African American culture that has existed in North America for hundreds of years long before we actually founded the nation.

You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!

Newsflash to Captain Ethnocentrist, but a major part of the American experience IS about the immigrant experience. Stating otherwise doesn’t make you wise or delivering rhetorical elegance. No, this type of boneheaded remark means you’re talking before thinking. And what about those races that endured indentured servitude. While not the same as slavery, it still meant you were raked over the coals in terms of work production and basically working toward your freedom, the only real difference being it had a time limit, although this time frame was abused on many occasions. Many Germans, Scottish, Irish and English went through this type of slavery-light.

And let’s not forget about Hispanics, who today comprise of our county’s biggest immigrant population, yet based on your illogical reasoning it’s somehow African-Americans who are rooted in America MORE???

This totally goes back to Michelle Obama’s “proud for the first time in my adult life” of America backhanded comment. Spread that guilt, spread it.

One race over another doesn’t make anybody, ANYBODY, more wise, intelligent, compassionate or relatable to what it means to be American. The beauty of America is that we can all define that concept without competing to be the epitome of what defines American. I know that’s hard for some to get, but it’s the truth. I’m no more American than my blue-collar Dad or my white-collar friends or Bill Gates or the panhandler outside the Chicago Metra station. Neither is Obama. Neither is the black race over the Latino race, or the WASPs.

Either we’re all created equal or we are not – get the story straight, or admit that you’re cherry picking because underneath it all you’re basically a ethnocentrist bigot! What about the everyday man in middle America – I guess his ability to relate to the spirit of American only matters on the campaign trail when you’re visiting taverns in the country of Pennsylvania and Indiana. Typical blue donkey ass elitist.

The ego of this obliviot astounds me more and more each day.

UPDATE: Apparently it’s blown out of proportion according to Allahpundit. While I can be convinced by his argument, the fact of the matter remains that Democrats don’t make it hard to jump to these conclusions when they have a track record with reverse racism (see Sen. Boxer, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., etc.). It doesn’t help too that Obama sat in a church for 20+ years while propaganda sermons of black power were spewed from the pulpit by good ol’ Rev. Wright.

Don’t it, Miss Boxter???? (via Breitbart TV)

Click here to view the embedded video.

This is what I’ve always found fascinating about the DNC party. They act like inherent characteristics such as race, gender, sexuality and even veteran-status are supposed to make people put aside their ideologies and common sense. Why? Oh, well because another person is the same skin color as you and therefore you must agree with him, even though he stated the exact opposite of what you believe. I mean that is so freakin’ condescending to not only somebody’s race, but their intelligence. Basically what Ms. Boxter (and the majority of liberals) are saying is that you don’t have the intelligence to come to your OWN conclusions and therefore must come to an agreement with people not on the merits of their ideas or character, but on the attributes of their race, gender and sexuality. Ri-@#$@#$@#$-diculus.

At the end, I love how she justifies her actions by being “someone who is married to a veteran.” Keep playing that identity-politics, Babs! What the FUCK does that have anything to do with being an excuse for the reason you literally just failed at a round of playing race-card politics???? Oh, it must be easier to forgive her actions because she’s married to a veteran. Well, Ms. Boxter, you’re also a member of the dumb bitch club and I guess then because of that I cannot forgive you – sorry the DBC overrules married to veteran status on mah’ judgments. (smirking)

Minorities continually support a party because they are sold on the idea that the DNC represents minorities. But all the DNC does when it’s in power is pass legislation and regulation that ultimately HURTS minorities not help them. In this clip for instance, minorities should ask themselves why are they supporting a political party that is in favor of passing energy policies that will hurt lower-economic groups (primarily of minority ethnicities) financially?

Or how about supporting a party that says it supports the blue collar working man? A party that passes economic policies which drives blue collar jobs out of the United States, but keeps their elitist cohorts in the lavish lifestyle their accustomed to. A party that says blue collar workers who own their own business and are financially stable must be taxed in order to spread the wealth around which in reality means giving more money to the government to keep giving Congress its five-figure pay raises.

And how about those who support the DNC because it says it supports illegal immigrants but continually allows for immigrants to be in a system that doesn’t pay them a fair wage under the myth that the jobs they have are ones “Americans don’t want.” So what is the DNC saying, illegal immigrants are taking the trash nobody wants therefore it’s okay to not pay them a legal, fair wage they would get if the businesses would be forced to not cut corners and immigration was properly monitored?

Why do minorities support the DNC, a party that eliminates effective voucher school programs despite the fact they show drastic improvements for kids from lower-economic and minority households. How does that support the advancement of minorities when the DNC eliminates educational programs that can make them better off financially in the future?

Wake up, minorities! This includes lower-economic classes, blacks, hispanics, women, etc….The DNC party is motivated by expanding the power of elites within that party. They rely on us falling for the old trick of them being a cape crusader in order for them to get elected and then once in office they consistently pass policies that advance only those within their elitist inner circles.

This is the party that plays on your desires of a better life and fear of oppression in society, and then leads you down the bath of being financially and ideologically chained to them with your vote. They act like your crusader against credit card companies, but refuse to tell you how they’re the party that put those companies in a position to offer you credit and take you to the cleaners with out of control lending rates. They don’t tell you they’re the ones in Congress literally forcing banks to trick you into borrowing money you can’t pay back with setup-to-fail-loans.

They sell you on the false premise that supporting the DNC will make you better off financially all the while they get rich, and your community remains ecnomically stagnate or decreases. Somebody needs to look at the fact that minority Democrat “leaders” rake in the millions while the people they “represent” continue to remain poor for more than 40+ years. Clearly, somebody is making it by selling the false dream bottled-up like old fashioned tonics or rain-drop cures. Jesse Jackson, I’m talking to yoooooo-hooooo!

This is a party that promises equality acceptance for you, but then demands that people treat you differently as if your race, gender or sexuality is a disability not just the inherent trait that it is.

And lastly, this is a party that would rather see more people on welfare government programs for financial dependence than working on legislation that promotes small business development in communities. Instead of creating jobs for the economy that would make people on their own financially stable, they continually insist to expand government welfare programs by stealing more money out of the economy. How is this representing the advancement of minorities?

And lastly, this is a party who just nominated a Supreme Court Jester (typo and it stays) that believes her race is what dictates the level of her intelligence. Wasn’t it Martin Luther King, Jr. that dreamed of a land where one wouldn’t be judged on the color of their skin, but on their character. How is it right for the DNC to make this a part of our constitutional ideology when their leaders advocate that race, not intellect, determines the judgment of one’s ability to be effective over another? Oh! And let’s not forget which current VP who’s a Gaffetastic-minority-representing Democrat had to say about Clarence Thomas (And this about about his OWN co-worker) -

“I think that the only reason Clarence Thomas is on the Court is because he is black. I don’t believe he could have won had he been white. And the reason is, I think it was a cynical ploy by President Bush.”

That’s not a platform of promoting multiculturalism, it’s a platform back-handedly promoting division, segregation and ethnocentrism. And it’s time to put a stop to it.

Don’t ya just love that supposed right-wing media bias. Here’s the latest on Powell and OH! once again proving how Dems are the mad hustlers of identity politics (via MyWay News via Daily Instigator)

Colin Powell worries that President Barack Obama is trying to tackle too many big issues at one time and he offers this advice: take a hard look at costs and consider the additional red tape that will be created.

“And I never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that, if we don’t pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great grandchildren will have to pay for it.”

Gee, Powell – why does Obama have to do anything you (a supposed Republican) wants him to do like having a smaller government?

He done already gotzzzzzzzzzz yo’ vote, biaytch!

That’s what happens when you vote on irrelevant characteristics like race, gender, age, class, etc. instead of basing your vote on f*cking policy and historical position/voting records. You voted for the most-liberal senator who never met a tax hike or spending program he didn’t like (oh, except funding for the troops at war, oooooooooooof course). So why are you @#$@#$ing surprised now that he is spending like one of the Real Housewives on Bravo.

I mean this isn’t the first time Captain Doofus has induced involuntary eye rolls. Just this time MAH eye roll is coupled with a fatty I TOLD YOU SO. You vote for a guy based on race (let’s be honest about it) and on the idea that you can be a part of history EVEN THOUGH he opposes all the principles you think our government leaders should be in alignment with. Then you expect him to throw away his principles and govern with your positions – it wasn’t Obama’s record that showed the story of a conservative-mindset when it comes to government. If you were blinded by mob mentality to see his governing/legislative past behavior, then that’s not his fault. That’s the person you see when you look at the man in the mirror that’s hopped up on Kool-aid on his way to the voting booth. Weeeeeeeee! Kool-aid! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

This is just a glaring example of why people should not let identity politics get in the way of educating themselves for their vote. You have people voting on emotions and not on educated judgments/facts, then getting pissed off about policy down the round because they weren’t paying attention. It was all out there – that’s why nearly 48% of the US didn’t vote for Obama’s liberal policies. If you’re not for liberal policies, then you shouldn’t have voted for a liberal in the first place, let alone the one ranked one of the most-liberals out there (even more liberal then John Kerry). The media would be saying the same thing about the liberal women who would have voted for McCain/Palin to then only complain about conservative policies down the line.

Take a cue from Clarence Thomas, Colin. Learn to hold on to and understand your princples. And if you want to throw them all away to a donkey in a skirt the next election cycle, don’t come crying as if you were fooled. You done made yo’ bed – so learn to lay in it, sucka!

Why is it human nature that non-verbals play such a part in our ability to not only retain but accept information or messages? I for one have been so confused by the shunning of people like Clarence Thomas and Thomas Sowell, but yet blind acceptance of Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton, by the black community (and the media) over the years. Bill Cosby years ago wrote a book Come On People where he (and Dr. Alvin F. Poussaint M.D.) outline why and how black communities can work together to turn their hardships around. I’ve read about half the book, but I remember back when Cosby was making speeches based on his work and people were lining up to the camera to chastise him for saying “controversial” things. The same has been true for Clarence Thomas.

I totally get what these guys have said for years – respect the significance of the role of family, raise your children to do right and stay focused, continue to get educated, watch out and defend your community, and then once you are grown into a success turn around to give back to the community. Common sense, non?

To me, I cannot fathom why a lower-class, blue-collar white girl from a large town can get that message (from black leaders like Thomas and Cosby) more than the very people that message is meant to inspire for the better. But then I think it’s the human nature of being stubborn as all get out that prevents us from understanding the really hard lessons in life the first, second, third, and most likely fourth time around.

Because what has Barack Obama said that’s so different than what Thomas, Cosby and Sowell have been saying FOR YEARS, even before Obama entered college????

I don’t get it other than perhaps McLuhan was spot on:

The medium is the message is a phrase coined by Marshall McLuhan meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in the message, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.

Came across this video with Clarence Thomas from last year during the election, and he provides some insight. I love how he questions why what he and Cosby were saying was deemed “controversial” in the first place. I totally understand him questioning that, although I bet it has more with people’s inability to accept responsibility for their choices/behaviors and how easy it is for us to blame someone else. It’s easier for people to blame a non-tangible theory of conspiracy with victimhood than it is for them to look in the mirror and admit they are related to the root of the problem.

Click here to view the embedded video.

And to arguments of Barack Obama “being one of us” or able to relate to the community because he’s come from there. May I remind you that:

Cosby grew up in the projects in Philly

Thomas was abandoned by his father at 2; and grew up in the South during the 40s and 50s; the only black kid in his high school during the civil rights era where he still managed to be an honor student

Sowell grew up in Harlem, didn’t have a father and dropped out of high school

None of these men went to a private school in Hawaii or were given the opportunities to travel the world to understand different cultures OR sat in a church for 20+ years listening to their “spiritual leader” preach hate for America and other races from the pulpit (just sayin’).

So the idea that Obama is more qualified to deliver this message than any of these three great men above is not only a farce but the people arguing from that perspective means they haven’t done any research and would rather live in a world of fragmented puzzle pieces than in reality.

For some reason there’s this whole issue that I guess needs to be addressed by the “heroic” left about how different the Obama’s talk. Here’s a report from ABC.

President Obama’s use of slang was seen as a tip of the hat to African Americans.

So here’s my tip of the hat and it’s not rocket science. The reason the Obama’s sound the way they do is not because they are more affluent, or hang around white people more, or are striving to be white. It’s because they are – educated and are in a professional environment 99% of the time they are publicly speaking!!!! I know this is REEEEEEEALLY hard for people on the left to grasp, but the way you talk has nothing to do with the color of your skin as the ABC report above would have some believe. I’m sorry if you believe that, but you are wrong.

Why is that? Well, because if that were true then my uncle’s voice wouldn’t resemble Milton from Office Space. My uncle is white, so via the liberal’s logic, he’s supposed to by default be articulate with words flowing out of his mouth as smooth as ice cream. Hmmmmm – ice cream. Anydaydream, enough with the classifying people based on how they talk is a characteristic of their race, and then showcasing others as “so brave” when they speak in tone of what is basically a highly-educated professional (nothing more, nothing less). It’s great for kids to look up to professionals and admire them to then in turn strive to be like them. BUT that’s not what this is. This is putting the Obama’s on a pedestal based on how they speak and that their “professional talk” is responsible for transforming the African American community - as if their culture is solely defined by the slang they speak in non-professional settings.

This is a propagandist tactic used by the left to play up some race-baiting for the DNC. Sorry to break the bad news, but uneducated people in the inner-city talk just like the uneducated people in the rural areas. It’s based more on education achievements than culture or race.

People talk in different tones based on multiple settings. I talk in a different fashion than I would with my friends or even at work. Some people even talk in a distinct way only when around their parents. Many people have unique dialects that change multiple times based on their growing ages or where they live. Others while at work may enunciate more while giving a speech or heading up a meeting, but would still have a highly-professional yet a bit more relaxed tone when it comes to their daily interaction with co-workers.

I argue that most people on a daily basis have at least 3-4 different ways in which they speak, ranging from highly slang/casual to highly academic/professional, and adapt their usage based on their environment. And that one’s range is more vast based on the education level they have achieved AND the academic level they encounter on a daily basis. For instance, I believe two PH.D students would on average talk more affluently than myself (who holds just a Master’s), but if you split up the two PH.D. students – putting one in Corporate America and keeping one in academia – you would also start to see a divergence between their speech patterns and context as well.

But, uh, some liberals may huff and puff saying that I’m doing a disservice to recognizing culture and the African American community. Notice how the parameters of culture for the Democrats only seem to include African Americans. How come there’s no hubba-bubba over how Asian Americans, Hispanics or other minorities talk? When Bill Richardson, who is Hispanic, gets up to speak where’s the “he’s so brave and has come so far as to overcome the barriers in articulation and enunciation” or the ”nation is fascinated not only by what Richardson says but HOW he says it”? I’ve seen plenty of Hispanics that speak the most broken English, yet Richardson is not hailed as transforming the Hispanic community based on him sounding professional which is essentially a requirement of him being a civic servant just like the Obama’s.

And what about when people on the left degrade others like Sarah Palin for being “hicks” or “too folksy” in their speech, blaming their small-town and rural backgrounds. Now all of a sudden it’s not about race that plays into your articulation but geographic residency? HUH?

Also, let me get this straight. It’s okay for someone to make fun of anyone they deem as poor white trash – the way they talk, how they look, etc. You can joke around by calling someone a redneck, comment they have missing teeth, probably sleep with a relative, talk funny (or ”too folksy”) or look like the creepy banjo kid from Deliverance. That’s okay, BUT if someone says a black student from the inner city talks a certain way not because of race, but because of personal choice and education level – then that’s wrong. Again, where is the logic?

This is another classic example of how the far-left nutroots define citizens questioning government policy that affects their pocketbooks.

Citizen who questions government under Bush = Patriotic

Citizen who questions government under Obama = Raaaaaaaaaaaaaacist!

Makes complete sense, right? Yeah, I don’t buy it either. But unfortunately this is the kind of race-baiting politics the far left like to indulge in when the don’t have both legs to stand on a plausible argument. It couldn’t be that these citizens are disagreeing with bad policy, it MUST be because the current president isn’t male, rich and white. Because under this same hypothesis all bad policy then must come under white leaders and all good policy comes under minority leaders.

Like when Jesse Jackson embezzled funds from his nonprofit to pay support for his illegitimate child. Yeah, that was a good decision and the funds were really just supporting civil rights but in an indirect way. But when Patton made the decision to open the door for backs to serve in the military – clearly he was racist and making a bad decision. Or Dwight Eisenhower delegating D.C. to set an example of integration for the school system immediately after the passing of Brown v. Board of Education – bad decision and racist! Riiight. (Rolling eyes)

So here’s the latest, House Majority Whip Weakling James Clyburn (D-SC) is accusing those who don’t support the stimulus, raising concerns and asking any questions are doing so not because they are concerned citizens but R-A-C-I-S-T. Here’s what he says about those governors who expressed concern with not accepting stimulus money because they don’t think it’s a good direction financially for taxpayer dollars. Nevermind the fact that most states don’t want to get locked into supporting programs once the stimulus money dries up. But Clyburn just quips that up to “not liking black people.” (via Michelle Malkin)

“The governor of Louisiana expressed opposition. Has the highest African-American population in the country. Governor of Mississippi expressed opposition. The governor of Texas, and the governor of South Carolina. These four governor’s represent states that are in the black belt. I was insulted by that,” Clyburn said. “All of this was a slap in the face of African-Americans.”

I loved Govenor Mark Sanford’s response to Clyburn’s unvalidated accusation.

“Representative Clyburn is no stranger to playing the race card, because he has no defense for the runaway spending and the deficits contained in this so-called stimulus bil that will hurt our economy. Spending money at the federal level that we do not have represents a future tax increase on all South Carolinians, regardless of their color – and in the process of doing so, he’s ripping off everyone he claims to represent.”

And here is Governor Bobby Jindal’s response (via HotAir).

“The federal money in this bill will run out in less than three years for this benefit and our businesses would then be stuck paying the bill,” Jindal said. “We must be careful and thoughtful as we examine all the strings attached to the funding in this package. We cannot grow government in an unsustainable way.”

Yeah, suuuuuuuuuuuuuure sounds like those decisions were based on race, specifically to oppress black citizens. Clyburn is a disgrace and is himself a racist. The people who continually vote for this piece of uneducated garbage of a legislature are doing a disservice to the vision of our founding fathers.
