The one thing I agree with, that you said, is removing ALL lobbying money. In fact it was McCain that supported this. Obama supported it for a few days (public financing, look it up), but then changed his mind when he saw how much he would be limited. I would like to see lobbying illegalized. I’m tired of the government picking winners, and in Obama’s case, picking losers.

Here’s a newsflash, corporations are not made to be your friend. They do not run on emotion or are required to think of the little guy when it comes to managing overhead and cutting costs. Perhaps if the government performed more like a business instead of a bleeding heart they’d for ONCE get one year where they could show a profit/savings. But instead, every year they are more and more out of budget and we’re the ones picking up the tab. I’d prefer government if it ran with the mentality of my corporation’s cost-containment strategy any day of the week.

Also to your snark about me being out of touch. I’ve got your ass beat by 4 years because I’ve been working and going to school, supporting myself since I was 13. I literally worked 3 jobs at one point while I went to school full-time in college. So don’t you dare come onto MY blog and chastise me for being out of touch with the poor in this country. My family was lower/middle class, we were on welfare, but we pulled ourselves up and I’m successful today not because of liberal policies but because of the freedom in economic opportunities (that we ALL have access to) that comes with a capitalistic society.

So the next time you want to shake your holier-than-thou finger about being out of touch, you should learn something about that person before you go running yo’ moufffffffff! And read a Milton Friedmann book once in a while – I’ll do you some good.

Your shallow rant on the big bad corporations is bull because capitalism is the most transformative of all economic systems. The wealty don’t always stay wealthy and the poor have the ability to pull themselve out of their poverty. Did you ever hear of a corporation committing mass-murder? What about the atrocities of governments headed by Stalin, Mao and uncle Adolph?
