joy_behar_village_idiotAnd you make my heart flutter as always. So my arch nemesis (in mah head), Joy “Yackity-Yak” Behar, was all over the Tiger Woods scandal the other day on everyone’s true source for intelligent, analytical opinions (pfffffffff) The View.  I’m not opposed to this hen-fest discussing the Tiger Woods scandal. It’s a talk show for crying out loud. What does amaze me is how once again Behar pulls at my heart strings with “logic” like this – only those who are anti-gay marriage or right-wingers can be hypocritical when they betray their marriage vows.

Here’s the full video (caution, get ready to fall in love, conservatives – heh). (via HotAir)

Yes, Tiger Woods is a professional athlete and is paid based on both his athletic accomplishments and reputation management. Part of that reputation management is based on the fact he is a family man. Reputation management is key to sponsorship compensation – just ask Michael Irvin, Kobe Bryant or Allen Iverson (strong athletic careers, poor reputation = lower sponsorship/compensation). The fact that he’s compensated for his reputation doesn’t make him off limits in the arena of public scrutiny. Did Woods do something hypocritical? Not in my eyes. To me hypocritical would be him lecturing others to do one action while himself doing the exact opposite. If Woods declared publically that men should be faithful to their wives and respect their marriage vows, that would make him a hypocrite.  He did no such thing. However, not being a hypocrite doesn’t equate Woods being off limits when it comes to the media spotlight and the praise OR criticism that comes with it.

You don’t get to promote your family photos to the media to receive praise, inviting the public into your private life during good times, and then cry foul when the media wants the same availability to inquire when the going gets tough in you’re private life and you’re open to heavy criticism. In that regard, one could make an argument for Woods’ hypocrisy.  I just think the guy wants his cake and to eat it too (like most celebrities), and that somebody in his camp gave him bad advice in terms of reputation management.

behar_crazyBut this post is about Joy – how dare I get off track!!!!   The thing is that Behar herself doesn’t seem to understand is what the definition of hypocrisy ACTUALLY is and again just emulates how people shouldn’t take her “arguments” in the arena of politics seriously.  I know – shooooooockah! Using any opportunity to label right-wingers as hypocrites while having no factual OR relevant basis for doing so doesn’t show negatively on those “evil” right-wingers, Behar. It only shows how much of an idiot and ideological demagogue you are. So keep wooooooooooooorkin’ that tin foil hat, GIRL!
