In the post below about the Gods, Guns, and Guts promotion I thought about it more when the CNN reporter smirked (literally in a snooty voice) about the dealership owners putting the word “GOD” in his promotion. I know the reporter is trying to get at a “how DARE you put religion out in the public eye!”

crusade_against_religionI’m so tired of this crusade against anyone who not only wants to practice religion but also wants to voice their practice/admiration of their religion.

I don’t think this dealer is marketing hybrids to smug a-holes in San Francisco. He’s marketing honk-a-burn’-love monster trucks to country boys in the sticks (aka God’s Country by the locals). Everytime my husband and I go visit his folks that remark is made more than once during the trip down – we’re almost to God’s Country (aka small town, middle of nowhere Indiana).

If the dealership owner wants to put God in his promotion to drum up sales, so be it. If you don’t like religion here’s a thought – ignore the promotion, pass over it. I don’t think you were his target audience in the first place then.

BTW, this totally reminds me of that episode on South Park. It’s literally one of my favorites. Where the liberals of San Fran are so smug in their egos because they all drive hybrids, that they have no shame in smelling their own farts. Classic, yet so on target.

Here’s the commentary on the inspiration for that episode. I just love Matt Stone and Trey Parker – isn’t it funny how it just comes down to common sense.

Listening to their story, you can just imagine these liberals thinking they’re doing something sooooo great by buying a hybrid car – as if they’ve helped save the Earfffffffffffff (and I just said that with my eyes closed – closed due to a massive eye roll, but still closed)
