Hell hath no fury like a former liberal woman.
It’s not that difficult to figure out. While I understand that people want to paint the pretty picture of many different molds of conservatives, to self-proclaim you are the future of progressive conservatism is a little early to call. Especially when conservatives are leaning more right than ever in opposition to the far-left policies currently being implemented shoved down our throats.
Meghan McCain is the latest conservative making the rounds in the press. While it’s great to see more articulate conservative women on air, let’s be honest – she’s only getting this attention because of who her dad is. Classic nepotism. The sooner Meghan starts to acknowledge this and move on, instead of fighting established pundits like Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter, the better off she’ll be in establishing her own credibility.
Here’s Meghan on Larry King the other night (via HotAir) claiming to be a “progressive conservative.”
Uggh! I hate that word progressive. People throw it around like the freakin’ L-word in a hormone-rabid high school. They’re not really sure what it means, but the sound of it coming from their mouth gives them a false sense of security in what they’re doing.
Progressive (pro·gres·sive) adj. – Moving forward; advancing. Proceeding in steps; continuing steadily by increments.
Basically, people throw around progressive as their policies are better when in fact their policies are just different. Different and progressive are not synonyms, you nitwits.
A lot of times people will comment that conservatives need to come around to more “mainstream” ways of thinking. I ask – mainstream? according to whose standard – Democrats? Then with that “logic” if conservatives where to be more “mainstream” they would no longer be conservatives, they’d be Democrats or named Arlen Specter.
I don’t think conservatives need to be more mainstream or progressive. The conservative movement is rooted in traditional values. They hold in the highest value above all other liberties the right to life (as does the Constitution BTW), so to assume that conservatives better “get with the times” and accept pro-one-choice (ie, abortion) is asking them to go against their core principle. How is that right? Does being progressive suddenly mean accepting only YOUR one-and-only position on the issue? So persecuting other Christians as “not being open minded” if they oppose one of their religion’s fundamental beliefs makes YOU a progressive? Whatever helps you sleep at night, I guess.
Also, classic in the comments on HotAir:
“I was raised a Christian, but I was raised open-minded Christian — one to accept people, love people, not pass judgment.” Commenter – Umm, that sounds pretty judgmental to me.
Ain’t that the trufffff. That’s so typical of people who criticize religion or those who are religious. There’s always the “I’m just pointing out hypocritical Christians.” Yeah, sure you are as you cast as many stones that you’re arm will allow you to throw. But when you cast a stone in judgement, I guess it’s called something else. Oooooh, that’s right – progressiveness.
The ranting and raving of a woman formally brainwashed under the liberal agenda. Through investigation, commentary and sarcasm about government, this woman is breaking free of the hypocritical liberal party that tries to manipulate women into believing only they can represent women’s rights. Get informed, get free, get Un-Liberaled! This blog does not endorse any particular candidate or party - although if I did, I most likely wouldn’t endorse a liberal candidate. For instance, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) or as I like to call her Smancy Pelotox would not get my vote. Comprende? Good. Hope you enjoy the rants! :)
