Woo! Whooooo! Just got back from the tea party and it was…AWE-Freakin’-SOME!

Hollah to my fellow tea party revelers, we couldn’t have made the event such a huge success without you. There were 1,000 people registered over at the group on Facebook but I’d say nearly double that actually showed. Yeah, so much for these tea parties being about just a small group of “crazy people.” (rolling eyes) Ummm, no LA Times - if you’re looking for the address of crazytown then hone in on anywhere Code Pink is. (And the liberal media wonders why they are going bankrupt and losing readers at every turn – gee, maybe because you don’t listen to the majority of Americans – la di freakin’ DUH!)

Anynitwit, I got to the event early and there were so many people I could only get a spot in the middle. The speakers were great and I’ve got some video I’ll post up later from ManCow.

I hoisted my double sign – Spending Our Way To Failure/My Birthday Wish is No More Spending – and it was an attention getter. At one point I bumped into a couple people due to my sign and as a gracious person (and normal Republican) I apologized for running into them. The nice lady I met made a very humorous remark “We Republicans are so polite. Only someone would be courteous at a conservative protest.” It’s either really funny or sad for the liberals that she is 100% correct. But there were some creative signs throughout the rally. Later on I did encounter a couple liberal nutroots lurking about, stirring up trouble. OF COURSE. Here’s some pics of our encounter with one. I never caught his name because I could have cared less but for the sake of this post let’s call him “Self-Proclaimed-Know-it-all-from-Using-Only-Wikipedia-As-a-Source Jacob” (no offense to all non-nutroots named Jacob). Here’s how a typical exchange went down:

Jacob “Umm…Obama’s about change and he’s turning stuff around. We’ve got to do something with Medicare/Medicaid?”

The sane folk aka conservatives “Can you supply some facts on that? Obama’s policies have dramatically increased spending without outlining any pragmatic specifics on strategy or how this money will be used.”

Jacob “Umm, Why are you answering my question with a question? Ummm, don’t answer a question with a question.”  (notice Jacob also answers a question with a question and also fails to provide any evidence. NOTE to the dimwit liberal – your. opinion. is. not. a. fact.)

At another point, Jacob got the old “don’t answer a question with a question” thrown back in his face by the guy here in the black coat (In Yo’ Faaaaaaaaaace!)

My favorite part was when one guy (I believe his name was Bill) countered our probably NYT-informed “friend” with the following “I’m talking from detailed facts.”  Somehow Jacob still didn’t get it – I think that’s cause it’s hard to accept and understand facts when you’ve spent your entire life basing arguments on emotions and :30 clips from CNN’s Wolf “I wouldn’t know journalism if it bit me in the ass” Blitzer.

Double the fun – you can protest your government’s crazy spending ways and wish me a happy birrrrrrrrrrrfday to me as well! Yes, as luck would have it I was born on Tax Day/April 15th. I mean why settle for a holiday, to share your birthday with, like St. Patty’s or Christmas, when you can share on the same day you file a five-figure tax fee with Uncle Sam. Totally a win-win celebration for all parties (snickers).  Ummm, don’t front – I know you are jealous!

Anyboohoo, here’s what my friend had to say about it…

These guys are adorable, it’s funny seeing the right-wing become the “dirty hippies” of America. “Get a job!!!” (Heh, I always wanted to say that.)

Good fucking night – what is it with this perceived right to arrogance that so many liberals exude. As if by being considered “progressive” is an automatic distinction to be higher up than other citizens who are technically defined as equal according to the Constitution. Oh, I forgot being progressive means opposing the Constitution – Oooops!

Yes, you can believe you are right and we are wrong (even though you’re wrong in that notion – heh) but to presume an authoritative ego of being better while belittling conservatives in their efforts to voice their concerns is only setting yourself up for the day humpty dumpty gets knocked off of the wall. And then where will you be – graveling for conservatives to be considerate???  Oh, and just to put the cherry on the sundae, let’s have a walk down memory lane about what a “progressive” protest looks like, shall we. (via Liberalities) Because you know, when a liberal protests it’s that he is “fighting” for freedom (to really tread on other freedoms) and not just seen as adorable in a condescending way.

No, my dear frenemy, what’s funny is that it’s okay for you all to have careers as “professional” students for life while the rest of go out there and produce capital for a living in Corporate America. Most of us don’t depend on the government for a grant paycheck.  Honestly, I should be demanding a productivity reports from all my friends in academia from now on since technically we greedy, evil corporate cogs are producing the tax revenue that pays for their academia gigs. From now on it’s happy hour cocktails with a peer review.

But the point about this (I swear I have one!) is how interesting (or quite possibly sad) it is that the new “radical” in this country is now someone who is speaking out in favor of MORE responsibility and MORE boundaries for abused freedoms. Before being radical was about getting the freedom of choice to be irresponsible. Now it’s like our society has overly misbehaved with the freedoms bestowed upon them so the opposition is to reel back in the crazy & wild antics of those who are abusing the freedoms of opportunity.  What has society come to when the responsible are now ubiquitously standing up against picking up the slack for the coattail-riding slackers???

Ummmm…..Just sayin’.

Sam & Me - Reeeeeeeepresentin’

First off, the protest was A.W.E.S.O.M.E.  Sam Adams, one of our founding fathers, showed up to help bring the chickens home to roost. Yea-Yea-YEAH! Then as we marched some lady ingrate, while walking into Daley Center (OF COURSE!), started yelling at us about her foreclosure. Ummm, pay your own darn mortgage, lady!  I just got one in October, so why should I have to pay for two????  Government isn’t a charity you nitwit.

It was great to see as we built momentum throughout downtown Chicago the number of people that either cheered us on or joined in the protest. Even a guy driving a Department of Revenue truck honked his horn and gave us the thumbs up. The protest included a multitude of spirit signs like “Honk if You Want to Pay MY Mortgage,” “Don’t Mortgage My Future,” “Michelle, Give Your Piece of The Pie But Don’t Take Mine!”  All in all it was a great time considering the circumstances – lots of people came out despite the cold and snow (probably around 400), and voices were heard even in Chicago *cough*Obamaland*cough*.  Now we have to just wait to see if the government actually listens to us.

And remember there is a reason why we are standing up to this out of control government spending. The spending that has been proposed is coming in at around $100 billion proposed/day. Let’s make our voices heard that we’ve had enough and this goes against the “pay as we go” stance the President proclaimed during the campaign.

So remember that when you’ve read the post directly beneath this one and then see this new proposed legislation coming out of Houston, Texas.

The “Credit Score Enhancement Program” will give up to $3,000 in grants to individuals who are trying to qualify for mortgages through the city’s homebuyers assistance program. City officials say some applicants fall short of eligibility by only 10 or 20 points on their credit scores, and paying off some debt balances can quickly improve their numbers.

So now because people have outrageous credit card debit, loans on cars, and can’t pay their bills on time resulting in bad credit score – because of this, responsible taxpayers now have to fork over more of their hard earned money so that high-risk/low-income people can by a home they probably have no business, especially from a financial standpoint, buying???  I’m so sick and tired of the “wooooe is them who can’t be financially responsible and now believes he/she has the ‘constitutional’ right to own a home” tales.  The Constitution says you have the fundamental right for the pursuit of happiness, not that you are entitled to happiness just that you have the fair opportunity to do what is right and responsible to EARN success and benefits like owning a home.  Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh, what is this country turning into!

Gibbs talks about journalists on cable televsion being responsible and to know what they are talking about. Not surprising, Gibbs just singles out conservative commentators and somehow has forgotten how many times he NEVER called out CNN anchors for being misleading. Talk about it being hypocritical.

Anyhypocrite, Gibbs also seems to miss the fact that it’s smart to be questionable and not accept everything in government with a blind eye. Wasn’t it him and his Obamaniacs that were arguing against an imperial-style executive branch and that citizens have a right to question the actions of their government? Now all of a sudden since they’ve got the high chair citizens questioning the plans of the government aren’t allowed to do so??? How are they supposed to “get their facts straight” when the administration, especially the Press Secretary, refuse to provide transparency that leave no questions unanswered?

I think we learned enough from the citizen’s 60-70% disapproval rating of the porkulus that it’s probably not a good idea to just pass things through and wave off critics who are just representing the concerns of average, responsible citizens.

I love the one guy’s sarcastic reaction to the president’s plan was “How about we all stop paying our mortgage. It’s a moral hazard.”  The really sad part is that there are some people who really believe that thought.

Seeeeee – common sense DOES exist in Chicago, just not in any of our politicians.
