It’s either refreshing or scary to know that ordinary citizens are developing better solutions to fixing the economy than our own current government. Keep those innovative ideas coming, folks!
How to Fix the Economy – Patriotic Retirement
There’s about 50 million people, over the age of 50, in the work force. If the government Pays them a million dollars a piece severance pay, with the following stipulations:
1) They immediately leave their jobs. Fifty million job openings – Unemployment fixed.
2) They buy a NEW American car. Fifty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.
3) They either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.
It’s called Patriotic retirement..
GIT’ ER DONE!!!

This proposal sounded so good at first, but there’s a huge problem: 50 million people x $1 million dollars = $50 trillion!
Here’s a cheaper variant: take the $1 trillion from your last post and divide that by 50 million, resulting in $20,000 per person. Not all 50 million will spend their $20,000 wisely but no single individual will waste their handout in a spectacular way, whereas a company or a government agency might waste millions.
