There may be a disconnect between how you feel and who you vote for. Political actors exist, at least party, because they want to effect State policy on behalf of their constituency...in other words no political actors seek "every man for himself"(ie-ruthless competition) its "everyone but the group(s) to which I identify for themselves, and largesse for my group", "If you don’t pay taxes I don’t think you should then get a tax cut or receive numerous tax credits to the point you’re coming out in the green from the govt." Everyone pays taxes "That said people should be pulling their own weight, not bitching on the sidelines while the rest of us carry the burden producing the majority of the work" there is currently massive unemployment and underemployment. Ppl. every where are starving for work. The idea that there is a large mass of lazy americans who simply refuse to work is not supported by any data. The presupposition with any argument to raise taxes, or against cutting taxes, is that government is currently utilizing its current flow of tax dollars to its maximum efficiency, and needs more taxes b/c the funding isn't enough, and it's being used to its utmost efficiency. And we all know that just isn't true. Darn right.
